Backdraft Drink Recipe
If you want to have the most potent kick out of your cocktail then this recipe is for you. Backdraft drink is a Godfather of all flaming cocktails as it not only involves igniting the drink but also inhaling its vapor. The combination of warmness of drink and its vapor speeds up alcohol absorption into blood giving you a new high. Don’t forget to read Safety Note given below before attempting to make this drink.
Preparation Time: 2 minutes.
Serves: 1 serving
|1½ oz (45 ml) Drambuie Liqueur|
|1½ oz (45 ml) Grand Marnier|
|1 splash (4 drops) Dark Overproof Rum|
- Pour Drambuie and Grand Marnier into snifter glass and stir.
- Add a splash of rum and ignite the drink. Cover mouth of snifter glass with a hand or saucer and let flames go out.
- Carefully slide-in the straw (without disturbing the seal too much) and drink the cocktail. Remove coaster or hand and quickly inhale the alcohol vapor.
Glassware: Snifter Glass.
Safety Note: This is a flaming cocktail and care must be taken to not to leave alcohol flaming for more than few seconds. Make sure that glass surface is not too hot and use heavy glass so that it does not crack with heat of flames. Never keep any alcohol near drink while igniting it.
